Welcome!
Cynthia Caplan was a remarkable Chicago-area artist who produced a unique and eclectic body of work from the late 1950s through 2006.
She first honed her artistic skills in the late 50s/ early 60s when she studied at the Contemporary Art Workshop in Chicago. Over the years she not only taught art but continued her studies in many wonderful places – Japanese brush painting in Hawaii, landscape painting classes in Arizona and New Mexico. Her work is strongly rooted in nature and landscape and she was intrigued by the details of stones, fossils and other artifacts of life.
This site is an opportunity for friends, fellow artists and those interested in her work to see and enjoy it on an ongoing basis. These images represent a wide range of her work and artistic styles. Please feel free to leave a message or comment on our blog! High resolution prints of her work are available upon request.
